Jaclyn Yared, B.S., CBIS, CES, CPCC

Jaclyn Yared, Vocational Placement Consultant and Owner, brings with her over a decade’s worth of experience assisting those working to rehabilitate and reintegrate into society, following a motor vehicle accident. A graduate of Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Behavioral Science, Certified Brain Injury Specialist, Certified Employment Specialist and Certified Professional Career Coach. Expertise at building relationships with her clients through one-on-one interviews and assessments, as well as networking with the physicians and nurse case managers. Jaclyn has helped numerous clients return to the labor force following their injuries. Her approach to treating each case as unique has earned her continued referrals and a reputation of mutual respect from those within the medical community she works alongside throughout the state of Michigan. Jaclyn aims at identifying key skills and interests to help define goals and objectives for the client to work towards. She provides direction and support through executing labor market surveys, vocational coaching and advocating with human resource managers during the selection and interview process. Her history of high-placement success rates and repeated referrals are a testament to her dedication and approach to assisting the rehabilitation efforts of those in her care.

 

Eric Hoblet, MS, OTR/L

Eric joined TRS in 2020 as a Vocational Specialist while completing his graduate school program. In 2022, following graduation, he began working for TRS as a licensed Occupational Therapist and Vocational Specialist. Eric earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Exercise Science from Central Michigan University in 2015 and a Master of Occupational Therapy degree from Davenport University in 2020. He brings with him a wide variety of clinical experiences working in skilled nursing, long-term care, and outpatient services. Eric has worked with individuals with various conditions including TBI, chronic/acute pain, functional decline, and neurodegenerative conditions. He has accumulated several years of working in rehabilitation therapy settings. Eric’s passion is to help clients increase independence and to improve their overall quality of life.

 

Quinn Counseller, OTD, OTR/L

Quinn has been with Transitions since December 2022 as an Occupational Therapist and Vocational Specialist. She graduated from the University of Michigan with degrees in Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Healthcare Management. She is a PWR! Moves Certified Therapist and is passionate about empowering people with neurologic conditions to be as independent as possible.

She has prior experience in diverse settings such as acute care, in-patient, and out-patient, along with working with a wide variety of individuals with various conditions such as SCI, TBI, CVA, ALS, PD, cancer, memory impairments, and more. Her approach to each case differs depending on each patient's uniqueness and their goals. Aside from seeing patients, she conducts research on neuroplasticity, exercise, and brain health in collaboration with the Michigan Parkinson Foundation and the University of Michigan. 

Holly Vanhoose, M.S., CTRS, AFP, CESP

Holly is dually certified in Recreational, Aquatic and Vocational Therapy services. She has been a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist since 2014 and has been working for Transitions Reintegration Services since 2018. Holly graduated from Central Michigan University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Recreation, Parks and Leisure Services Administration with a concentration in Therapeutic Recreation, in addition to being awarded a Master of Science in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management with a concentration in Recreational Therapy from Clemson University in 2018. Holly furthered her skills and knowledge in Aquatic Therapy by obtaining the Aquatics Fitness Professional certification in 2022. Holly was awarded the Certified Employment Support Professional designation from the Association of People Supporting Employment First (APSE) in 2021. She is currently studying at Clemson University to obtain a Ph.D. in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management with a concentration in Recreational Therapy.

Not only does Holly have in-depth understanding and knowledge of Recreational Therapy practice through her education, but through her work experience as well. She has had the opportunity to work with many different populations including older adults with dementia, at-risk youth, individuals with developmental disabilities, adults with psychiatric diagnoses, individuals with traumatic brain injuries, and individuals with physical disabilities. She has worked in a variety of settings such as medical facilities, schools, and out in the community, providing her a diverse skill set and understanding of Recreational Therapy processes and treatment interventions to help individuals achieve the best quality of life possible.

Brooke Scoggins, BS, CTRS

Brooke started working for Transitions in August of 2023. She is assisting TRS clients with community and work reintegration pursuits. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation from Grand Valley State University in 2020, as well as acquired the Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) designation. Brooke has a wide range of experience in providing Recreational Therapy services for several populations. Throughout her career, she has worked with at-risk youth in foster care, adults in psychiatric care, older adults with dementia, and individuals with spinal cord and traumatic brain injuries. Brooke has a passion for assisting individuals to gain as much independence in leisure participation and reaching their full potential following their injuries.

Marisa Colpetzer, B.S., CTRS, ATRIC

Marisa joined Transitions in July 2020 as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. Marisa graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Recreation, Parks and Leisure Services Administration with a concentration in Therapeutic Recreation. She has experience in outpatient rehabilitation, acute rehabilitation, as well as home and community setting. She has worked with many different populations including pediatrics and older adults with physical disabilities, individuals with developmental disabilities, at-risk youth, and group dynamics of all ages.

Marisa is certified in Aquatic Therapy and Rehab. She has several years of experience providing Aquatic Therapy in an outpatient rehabilitation setting with various age groups. Through her experience Marisa has developed a true passion for her profession and the populations that she works with.

 

Traci Soule, CTRS, CBIS, ATRIC

Traci joined our team in 2023 as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Therapist. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia, Bachelor of Arts in Dance from Webster University, and Recreational Therapy degree through Eastern Washington University. She is also a Certified Brain Injury Specialist and Aquatic Therapy and Rehabilitation Institute certified. Traci is a member of the American Therapeutic Recreation Association, Michigan Therapeutic Recreation Association and Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo. She continually looks forward to working with individuals to help them achieve their goals and improve overall quality of life.

Megan Groat, BS, CTRS

Megan started working for Transitions in January of 2022. She has been a Certified Therapeutic Specialist since 2019 upon receiving a Bachelors of Science in Therapeutic Recreation from Central Michigan University. Megan has a wide range of experience in providing recreational therapy services. She completed a clinical internship at Spaulding, a top ranked Rehabilitation Hospital, located in Boston, MA. During this internship, she gained experience in adaptive sports for people with various disabilities. Throughout her career, she has had the opportunity to work as a Recreation Therapist for a variety of populations including; children with developmental disabilities, individuals with spinal cord and traumatic brain injuries, older adults, and people with psychological disorders. Megan’s Main focus is on Community Integration and Leisure participation to increase independence and quality of life for her clients. Megan has a passion for teaching others about the importance of leisure participation following their injuries.

 

Kathlynn VanHekken, BS

Katie joined TRS in 2021 as a Vocational Specialist and Recreational Therapy Assistant. She has a Bachelor of Science with an emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation degree from Calvin College. Katie brings with her several years of experience working in the rehabilitation industry. Formerly CTRS certified, Katie worked for Hope Network Rehabilitation Services in neuro and spinal cord injury rehabilitation from 1999 to 2007. She was also Bad Ragaz Method aquatics certified and provided assistance in other departments such as occupational and physical therapy in a Rehab Aide capacity. Katie’s strengths as a therapist include establishing rapport with her clients, providing person-centered care, and helping her clients to transition to competitive employment.
